ECU for a mx5 turbo?

Postby ben » Sat Jul 23, 2005 2:05 pm

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of turbing my mx5. I can organise the plumbing etc - but I don't know what options are available for an engine management unit? The cheaper the better. I'll be running around 8psi.

Link piggyback ecu?

a link v5 ould be good value if you can install it yourself.
I would recomend a proffesional tune tho by some experianced with links or other aftrmarket computers.
I do know of a piggy back system which is pretty damn impressive for what it is.
P.M. Flawles for more details about it.

microtech or link, i paid $1395 for my microtech, doing the installation my self
from memory links are any were from $900 to $1500 depending on the type. and you may be able to get a plug in, so no wiring to do which always keeps the cost down

thou currently you can get a haltech supplied fitted tuned for around $2500,

$&#$% 'ell.

I was thinking of something for around $500 + tuning.

I thought the turbolink plugged into the injector wires and elongated the pulses when it sees boost?

if you want something cheap, try gizzmo, i know they aint that cheap, but can do chips for a lot of cars,
they custom make them and do the tuning on a dyno i think, so at least you know it should be ok,
then again it is gizzmo
