recalibration of speedo

Has anyone done a conversion where they have use a differnt make box? eg, mazda into a toyota? or have differnt diff, tyre size which has meant the speedo is out? I realise you can alter the speedo, but the odometer will still be incorrect. I have a cable drive system, any help would be great to correct this differnce in reading.
