Back to the first post,

To me that means that it is running on what is basically the accelerator pump.
This means to me that the TPS is sensing and the ECU is clever enough to provice acceleration enrichment,

and also that the car is suffering from a lack of petrol into the cylinders.

Fuel filters give more warning than that, ( usually ) so I would like to place my bet on fuel pump fault.

THE VERDICT:

Injectors - I checked using an LED to see whether they were all being triggered in which they were. The injectors themselves could not be faulty as the engine was able to idle independently.

Fuel Pump - This was the problem, not the relay as I heard the pump switching on when ever the motor was turned over. I was unable to source a fuel press gauge however i was able to temporairily connect another fuel pump (from a 4age celica gt which wont fit the original tank) in which I submerged in a container of petrol and connected the cars inlet and return lines. This test proved successful therfore I'm on the hunt for a compatible internal pump. The ae82 fxgt uses the same tank/pump as the ae82 corolla liftback gt?

Thanks for the help guys,

skoty.

Nothing Matt, you were the fourth person in this thread to state it was the pump. :D
