silvertop starter motor

Postby good ol stoners » Tue Aug 23, 2005 2:19 pm

My starter motor fried it self on friday night after a drive from welly to aucklands. :s My car is an ae101 with a silver top.
Does anyone know if a 16 valve starter motor would fit or do i need to source a silvertop one specifically.

Probably need to get the 20v one as I know the 20v one won't fit the 16v. They mount on the other side of the motor so the solenoid doesn't line up and the mounting holes are different to the 16v one.
See ya

Simon, you are correct the 16 and 20 valve starters are not interchangable.
The answer is Helmholtz!
