Any tips for GTI Muffler?

Postby sezcivic » Sat Aug 27, 2005 7:39 pm

Hey

I have a 91 GTI Corrolla and I wanna get the rear section of my exhaust replaced.

Im wanting something to make it breathe better while also giving it a big of a deep tone without being too loud or illegal?

Can anyone suggest anything or a good muffler place I can go to

Im in Auckland

Thank :)

Argh,.. what are they called.... "Super turbo" mufflers i think.

better suited on N/a engines, were as big rice cannons are suited to turbo cars (who needs backpressure on a turbo car?)

yeah i agree with that statement, i have a 87 ae92 fxgt, that has an rps rear muffler on it (not cannon style) you are more than welcome to have a ride sometime and have a listen to see if its what you are after.

Im out in west auckland.

Cool well these are giving me some good things to investigate.

Are you normally in town Friday or Saturday night? we could hook up.

Soo many cars with those cannon style mufflers sound like SH*T

I'd run a Borla muffler, not the cheapest but excellent flow & they aren't loud, they just aren't shiny & bling like other though. We've run them for ages on racecars & generally we never have a problem with noise.
