Electronics problem

Postby thenathan » Fri Sep 02, 2005 6:22 pm

Hey I have a '91 Levin Silver Top (AE101), the other day I drove into the hugest pot-hole even made by man, and the jolt caused all the main electronics in the dashboard to die.

The following are affected:
Stereo
Heater/Air Conditioning fan (but the ID lights telling which setting is selected still work)
Power Mirror motors
Clock

I think either:
The CD player skipped which caused a minor surge which blew the fuse
or
The jolt knocked a connector or plug out.

I cant find any blown fuses, but know that they are hidden all over the car.
All the fuses in the fuse box next to the battery are fine, and the fuse in the left side of the passengers footwell is fine.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Are those electronics all powered on the same circuit?

Does anyone know where other fuses are located in the car?

______
Cheers
Nathan

Sounds like the dome fuse to me. I believe that fuse is in the fusebox in the engine bay.

Happened to me once stereo shorted out.
This blew the heater clock and all that.
Have you checked the fuses in the drivers kick panel.
The fuse i blew was a 7.5volt 2 pin one
