M series conversion help needed

Postby Low_Aa63 » Sat Sep 03, 2005 6:40 am

Im converting my 85 cressida to manual using a w50 and flywheel from an m-eu, what size flywhell would this be compared to a 5m-geu?

Also how do i deal with the park switch selector as the car atm has the ect transmission with later model non vacum advance 5m_geu etc?

And what pedal box?clutch master's can i use... for eg p/box and clutch master from a ga70 corona markII grande??

Any help appreciated :)

Can you measure your flywheel? I'll check mine later and let you know but I'd think they would be the same size.

Easiest answer would be to work out which wires are connected if the auto was in neutral and jumper those wires together.

Not sure on this myself; maybe others will know..... Otherwise, borrow one and see if it will fit. What model cressida are you "playing" with?

Im guessing its an mx73. first of all go here. read the walk through (and nplenty of other good info) Then try and find a manual diesel cressida for the pedal boxx etc.

any ?x70 series, or ?x80 series will fit. even ?a60(carina) and jza80 fit. for the pedalbox. the master and all the piping down to the slave should also fit to the factory clips on your fire wall. i bolted all lx70 clutch stuff straight into my jzx81.

the flywheels should be the same, should bolt straight on.

there should be like a plug that goes down to the gearbox, with 2 big black/white? wires and some others. just connect those together and the car will think your in neutral.

Cheers!
Yeah car is an mx73 and the auto is starting to pack it in so instead of replacing the auto(who honestly does this) i went for the logical solution!
