Gear boxes

Postby mad starlet » Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:41 am

Are the gear boxes in a non-superchargered ae92 levin the same as a supercharged ae92 levin or are the one's in the supercharged model different?

Try a search.

They are different.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

so it would not be a good idea to put a 4age gear box on a 4agze engine

wouldn't be the best unless its fitted with an lsd.

will also limit the clutch size you can fit too by using the 4age box.

ze boxes are pretty strong and seem to take a fair pounding

Supercharger + LSD = much needed traction.

Totally agree with that, it would be ridiculous without it. I am pretty sure that the GZE boxes are taller geared, both my GT-Z's have revved lower at 100 than any of my mates 4A-GE's in any number of cars... AE82, AE85/6, AE92, AE101 etc.

there are some advantages with the n/a gearbox

closer ratios, less weight.
the "c" series can handle quite a good amount of power.
if running a stock or near stock ze then itl lbe fine.

re the clutch, mine runs a stock cover and brass button plate, it shudders a bot but isnt hard. there are options.... i guess it depends on what you wanna do with it
