Stupid Boost Gauge Question

Postby skynets » Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:33 pm

Maybe this question is stupid, but my friend got this kind of problem, and hope I can get answer from you to answer him.

He just purchased a Blitz Mechanical Boost Gauge (2nd hand)
He hasn't install it yet, but looks like the needle is not pointing at 0?
Questions is:
1. Is it normal, will this get fixed when installed? or is the boost gauge need recalibrate?
2. If need calibration, is it an easy task or just a waste of time?

Anyone encouter this kind of problem before?

This sounds stupid, but hope someone can help!!!

Nah, it ought to be on 0...Theres a place in auckland who repair gauges, Robertson Instruments or something like that, they ought to be able to calibrate it.

I dont think ive ever had a boost gauge that has had a dead accurate needle. I always assumed that it was to do with differences in atmospheric pressure..... or something

If it obviously doesn't read zero it it wrong and will not be accurate.
Happens when you drop them and the weight bend the levers inside.

Is it a liquid filled one as the one I had was and they are m not resealable afterwards.
