Postby scope » Fri Sep 09, 2005 12:41 am

i currently have a 2" exhaust in my ke30, gonna convert it to a 4age turbo and wondering if 2" is too small? should i go up to 2 1/2" or what?

you could do 250hp on a 2inch exhaust ...
i would just leave it as is and see how you go

although you may be able to do 250hp on a 2" exhaust, the same engine would probably make another 5-15hp more with a 2.5". A 2.5" pipe has more than 50% more cross sectional area than a 2" (and a 3" has 125% more c.s.a)

Most exhaust people recommend a 2.25" system for the N/A 4AGE. It all depends on what you're going for (Outright power or retaining some torque).

2.5" on a turbo 4age is sweet,

2" is what i prefer on a n/a, lots more responsive and not so damn noisy

What sort of mufflers are you guys with 4A-GZE/GTE's running? I bought my car (AE92 GTZ) with a 2 3/4' exhaust from the extractors and its way too loud. The engine has a 14lb pulley kit and currently has two straight through type mufflers and a conventional one at the back. Its just got a really harsh bark when its boosting or above about 3000 rpm.

Hey. Im running my GTZ with headers, mandrel bent 2 1/2, splitting into twin 2 1/4. Running 3 mufflers and a resonator. Sound bloody good, really deep with none of the rasp at 3000rpm.
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!

problem with the 4agze is that it doesn't have a turbo to quieten it down and make it sound better, so it sounds like any other f*cking 4age!
