argh wheel hub thread broke off!

Postby soven » Tue Sep 20, 2005 7:10 pm

I never thought this would happen. Just finished repainting my rims, tightening the locknuts on the front right when I heard a "pop" . argh! what can I do now, I am guessing I would have to replace the whole hub assembly now? :(

I am so gutted now, can't believe a simple task would turn into this.

Celica st202 98 with abs. Anyone know whats the rough cost for labour? I will probably have to email revhead for the part.

Take the wheel off, calipers and things off, rotor off and turn things around until there is a bit of room behind the broken stud. Bash it with a hammer until it pops out the back. Put the new one in with a bit of a spacer or something and tighten a nut on to pull it into place.

Just like new.
