Vodafone, always will be.

Every single telecom phone, that ive dealt with (even a new telecom harrier phone / pocket pc), has broken...

my gx10i (yeh, getting on 2 and a half years old now, if not more), is still going strong.

2 problems have happened with it, 1 Vibrate has Not stopped when someone rang me (that was a fun phone call...) and the other is it wouldnt get into vodafone live. But thats a fault with the phone (restart it before you use vodafone live).

I never use vodafone live anyway, so hey, ive got no problems with it!.

Id use about $20 a month, i only text about 3 people, everyone else either rings me, or texts me and i dont reply :D.

Vodafone, better phones, better service, and 3G > T3G by quite a long shot.
Plus I used to work for them, and I like my number :D

I agree 100%
vodafone got in early on the mobile craze, with youth targetted advertising everywhere making everyone get the idea that vodafone is "cool", the result is as shown, about 80% of people on vodafone are on there "just because they like it better for some reason" when they could save heaps of money by being on telecom....but oh well, it's your money, and young people don't really know anything about spending it wisely until they get older and start having to worry about actual important things

Vodafone, because
1. I hardly ever text (maybe 10 messages per month, which is included in my calling plan). I'm on Get 200 and my plan is rarely over $30 per month, except when I go overseas.
2. Roaming is far better than with Telecom. I used to have a Telecom phone for work, when I travelled to Oz I couldn't receive txts and clearing my voicemail was an international toll call (and I then had to enter my number and pin etc) whereas my personal Vodafone was exactly the same as being in NZ - complete with operational caller id.
3. I've had my number for years and I don't want to change it.
4. The phones are better. The Samsung I had on Telecom was the absolute pits to use, my current Nokia (work) and Sony Ericsson (personal) are way easier to use.
5. I just don't like Telecom. If it was significantly better value to use Telecom I might consider it but not texting and needing roaming coverage I'll happily pay for Vodafone.
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Originally vodafone, when $10 txt came out I resisted for about 6 months then sucummed to the darkness. Dusted off my vodafone when double top up came back so I filled that up and use it for when I need to make a call and people on 021 can send txts to that number free on the weekend. Rest of the time its just my dirty old 2280.

My phones get a bashing so there's no point in me owning good ones.

Same here, which was why I was hesistant about shelling over $800 for a GX30i, when the old Nokia 3310 could take such a hiding...

So far I'm impressed, as long as it's closed, it seems pretty much unbreakable in general use (including a few decent sized lobs onto concrete, and some falls onto concrete from a truck cab)...

these are valid points

in my case, i'm 21, and know that I could save money on telecom, but feel that i prefer the customer service that I get from Vodafone .

example - i recently replaced my cellphone (Vodafone) and the warranty information that came with it was not current. vodafone went above and beyond to get the information for me.
a week later, i was given my grandmothers (Telecom) to check whether it had a fault in the ringing volume and found Telecom hard to deal with and not that willing to help.

Vodafone are deff way better! I think Telecoms 10% txtn is gr8, but it was way better when it was unlimited, if they want to put a limit, it should b at 3000 a month, just to stop people like that guy who sent 26000 txts in one month.... he must of been a fast texter!

I played with the idea of going to telecom but didnt for teh following
*I like my number - ive had it for 3 years and dont wanna change it
*Definatley have a better selection of phones
*Ive just always been with vodafone.
*Ive found the service on my sister telecom is real unreliable
*The customer services team is always very helpful

Hoping to upgrade to a V800 soon so dont plan on going to the com anytime soon

Telecom have some good fones if you wanna part out a bit more $$$. I got a decent Nokia that I'm happy with. Cost me $350 on special at the time.

One thing that pisses me off is when you txt vodafone and they never txt you back because they can't afford to. Esp in the wkends. Cracks me up when they dont realise in the wkends though and use up all their credit
