20V Air intake

Postby Armourermike » Tue Sep 20, 2005 6:32 pm

Am looking at upgrading me standard air box. Will a pod filter in the engine bay give me more power? Or should I fit a cold air box? :?

Heres just an example of the cold-air box I built in my BZR....

A pod filter in a cold air box will work better than just a pod filter in a hot engine bay. As to how much Hp you will gain? Put it on a dyno before you do it, then build your cold air box/ pod filter combination and dyno it again. :D

Or you could use your search button and find all sorts of things on cold air intakes - plus it will help if you spesify which chassies your motor is siting in as they have different shapes, different motors and altogether different ways of getting a nice efficient cold air intake to fit it!

But yea... definitly build a cold air box otherwise you are wasting your time and money on the pod.

Maybe with the bumper on! Otherwise you would get alot of water and road crap on your filter!!

You would be suprised how much air flows behind your headlights, and with a setup like mine, it keeps the air box pretty damn cool. When I'm racing I just have to remove the headlight, takes like 2mins, and that gives even more flow. :D

With a setup like in the pic above, its a bit harder to get to your filter to wash/clean it. I just have to lift my bonnet and undo a few screws and its out. :D
