reverse lights

hey

my gf car is a kpxx starlet

and her reverse lights arent working i dont really want to mess around to much i have checked the bulbs there fine and the contacts are all clean

what should i start looking at next

Check the reverse light switch on the gearbox.

would that under the carpet or connected underneath the car (on the g/box) its self

I don't know the Starlet at all but would guess that the swtich is on the box itself. Perhaps somone else can confirm?

On a KP they join the loom just below the coil (same area as dissy/temp/oil wires), then go down to the switch on passengers side of gearbox. Easiest way to test is unplug loom, bridge reversing switch wires and see if the lights come on. If they do then switch or wiring to switch is the problem, if not its something else. Need ignition on for this test.

Traced it back to the gear box and unplugged the plugs and pluged them back in hey presto reverse lights again


thanks for the help

bit easier to work on the starlet than my ae101
