if you already have 4age mounts why not go for either a 4agze or 4agte setup...would be a fair bit of fun in a ta22 and you;d still be able to make it reliable and make a bit of power :D

Agreed, don't bastardize one of the few ta22 left.

1UZ-FE would be the business I reckon.

Its still bastardizing it with a 1UZ.

A 20B would be interesting, but something like would be quite cool to keep original.

I guess you could look at it that way, but given it's from the same manufacturer, I don't :)

Its not a factory option, and you'd have to hack it a bit to fit ;)

True, and that's not too cool. Perhaps a later model 3 series would be a better option :)

what's a "later model 3 series"? 3zz-fe 1.6L corolla engine? :D

personally, I think a 20B would be pretty cool for a TA22, although I wouldn't do it myself

Rotor the $&#$%, would be awesome, Toyspeed's anti-rotors, they seem to prefer slow and reliable motors...

yeah id have 2 say dat toy speed is pretty anti rotor, had an rx7 s4 b4 this and that was great fun, just thought putting a engine that makes just under 300hp standard in a car that weighs $&#$% all would b a bit of fun and diff, and if it doesnt get the 20b it probly wont be geting much done engine wise, im kinda an all or nothing guy

umm..your asking about a rotary conversion on a toyota site, you should expect a bit of flak about it, your best bet is to go to a rotary forum and ask there, you'l get a much better response.

1uzfe won't fit without some serious mods, mainly steering involved (it will physically fit but you have to convert to R&P). its quite difficult to do because there are no steering racks that are even close to working so custom stuff is a necessity and doing custom steering involves knowing a fair bit about bump steer and all that sort of stuff. there's a really good article on www.toymods.org.au forums about it though.

as for a 20B i say go for it, the cars already gone from stock and the carbied 2T's are pretty average motor's IMO so returning it to stock isn't really a decent option. 3SGE's don't seem to be the easiest conversions to do and the TA22 engine bays aren't exactly huge.

brake conversions are pretty common for these cars, have a look on toymods but basically you can use later model toyota stuff for cheap or if you've got some serious coin i'm 99% sure (i know they do for T/RA23/28's) wilwood do a nice big brake conversion. rear brakes aren't a big deal since you'll need a new diff for that 20B anyway

cheers
Matt
