i mean yea sure there is girls that you dont take flowers cos she will just set them on fire and hit you with them.
i think it all has to do with the kinda guy you are. if you taker her flowers is it cos you want her to think you put in some effort or do you want to make her feel loved from the get go

most girls wouldn't object to receiving flowers but there are some who don't like receiving them coz they die eventually

yeah well - i think the response depends on several factors
1 - how long two people have been together
2 - if they've been together for a while, when/why the flowers are being given eg birthday, valentines, anniversaries are acceptable but randomly might be a bit suspicious

on the other hand warwick make up your own mind from what you know of the girl

Does a girl ever bring the guy a present on the first date? Nope, in this day of 'equal rights', then why the $&#$% not...

If I ever bought a girlfriend flowers, I'm guessing I would have got a swift punch to the face, being that she would think I must have done something pretty bad to be giving flowers...

If you want to be whipped for all eternity, then go, give flowers, if you want to retain some dignity, and still get some using some good old fashioned charm, then don't... 8)

you've got to give to receive ... hrmm it's a shame there are so many like you out there.

I'm telling you to go for the girls! Just don't cost yourself money, or freedom in doing so...

Confidence goes a long way further than gift giving...you just turning up should be enough of a gift for her...

hmm its up to you...it should be a case by case basis as there is no garantees... my personal method is to hold off until you know its worth it and then suprise them randomly with something nice like flower or chocolate or suprise visits... random is the key , then they dont take it for granted and you gain extra points for spontaneity :D

So freakin' true!

On a side note, some girls don't like getting flowers as they have allergies... (ie: I will never be a florist because of my oh-so-lovely hayfever)
Dugtrio used Earthquake. It's super effective.

Sometimes, its good to have members of the other sex in these forums :)

(Only SOMETIMES...)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

There are so many of 'us' out there, because there are so many girls out there that will take a guy for a ride, because she knows hes interested. Im sure most guys here have been burned like this at least once!

So I will assume that you are including both sexes in your comment.

Personally.... I never buy girls anything.

If you have to keep buying them stuff to keep them interested, they arent worth having around IMO.
What can I say, Im half dutch.

Although... in this thread the idea of 'buying stuff' seems intertwined with 'making a nice gesture'. Which I never said I dont do, neither did Pervert for that matter. ;)

Although the gesture of buying flowers is nice, there are plenty of other ways that you can make nice gestures without spending money.
And buying flowers seems rather cliche to me, but Im a cynical old bastard I suppose.

It seems straight out of the handbook for how to go on a date...
Buy a girl flowers, dinner and a movie, white picket fence, three bedroom house, 2 1/2 kids :)

At the end of the day....
DONT DO THINGS FOR GIRLS THAT YOU ARENT WILLING TO KEEP ON DOING.

If you cook them three course meals, shower them with gifts, take them out all the time.... They are going to expect to keep on getting this treatment. Once youve been with them for a while and you cant keep up the initial treatment, they start to get pissed off and dissapointed.

For example:
If youre a slob (like me!), act like one.
Theres no point in pretending to be nice and tidy if you arent.
They are just going to get pissed off when they eventually find out what you are like. 8)

haha, people get bored with yes or no answers.
they explain themselves, someone says something wrong to another person and they get flammed, then there is a 2 sided argument for a page and a half, followed by either racism, a death threat or bible bashing.
The thread is then locked and all is well :)

Screw the flowers, just go down on her. If you're good enough, she'll be yours :D
