standard 4age smallport, wheres oxy sensor located

Postby dxtawagon » Tue Oct 04, 2005 3:06 pm

is the oxegen sensor located on the manifold or further down the system on a factory exhaust system.

reason for asking is that i have bought recently a ee90 wagon with this engine and was looking round and couldnt see one anywhere,

if someone has a pic of standard system that would be awesome.

not 100% sure on what the previous owner has done etc.

cheers

its out of a gti corolla.
so would it run better with one? or would the loom and computer not recognise it???
so if the computer is not set up for one it wouldnt slip into the over-fuelling mode then????
or if i got a import exhaust manifold would it be a easy swap?
i did look around the loom for some extra plugs and there were a few round the dizzy, not sure if they would fit it though?

cause engine is excactly the same as import??? or not??

any help appreciated

As you have an ee90 I assume you have done an engine swap? If so what computer did you use - nz new computer, don't bother with the o2 sensor, if it's off an import the o2 sensor would help fuel economy.

If you want an o2 sensor get the part of the exhaust with the sensor and either take the wiring loom out of an import or rig up the sensor to the computer yourself.

You might need to redo some other stuff as well, I'm not sure of the differences in electronics between nz new and imports.
