Soarer Digital dash and Analogue dash

all jap soarers have the digital dash. US Lexus models have the analogue dash.

which one do you prefer?

Digital dash looks awsome,

But for practicality and being in my comfort zone I'd go with analog,
Its what im used to.

Besides, digital is hard to see when the sun is shining straight on it.

Right well now I know that Lexus actually did make an Analogue dash for the Soarers I shall endeavour to get my hands on one and get rid of this POS digital dash...

the Japanese digital dash was what drove me over the edge to buy my soarer, it is frikin mean.

It is just so different 8)

edit - and as for the sun shining onto it, I dont think I ever had a problem with this. It is projected up onto a mirror which is embedded about 15cm behind the protective plastic. Would be pretty hard to cause a problem. :D

Problem is that you cant swap a digital dash with the Analogue dash. Apparently the wiring looms are completely different..

so theres no chance of getting a us lexus dash to working in a Jap soarer unless you cut off the loom connectors for the dash and try to join all the wires 100's up correctly to the us lexus dash.. which may not even work..

9. Can I replace the Soarer digital combination meter with the Lexus SC400 analogue combination meter?

No. The meters may be physically the same but they are not electrically compatible. The Soarer connector plugs do not fit the Lexus meter sockets and the differences extend further than just the incompatible harnesses.

I hate any and all digital dashes...they are ugly as SIN!!!
I will definately change over to some form of Analogue at some point...I don't suspect changing from the Lexus to the Soarer dashes would be all that incredibly hard. Should be fairly similar to changing the Supra ones over.

I will endeavour to some investigating and I'm sure it's possible. Even if you have to take it to someone who can wire it in for you if they had both wiring diagrams...

yeah the digital dash isnt that great, ive seen a few soarers with them in. At night there easy to see if there working properly but during day if it bright there all washed out and hard to read.. so annoying. :x

Still there more interesting than the analogue dashes out there.. :wink:

Digital dash = superb. People bitch about it without seriously using them first for any extended period of time... Its incredibly useful when you're coasting along and you glance down to check your speed, no more wondering if you're doing 109, 110 or 111, you just take a quick glance and eyes back on the road.

Plus with the onboard cruise control, you rev up to exactly 107kph, click on cruise control, and you know you can drive like that for ages without having to touch the accelerator or ever risk being tagged by the cops :D

yeah thats what i thinks great about it, you can see how fast your going by reading numbers which takes no time at all and is acurate! :lol:

as you said with analogue dials you have to look at it for a while to see exactly how fast your going. :?

only thing is you will have to make sure the speedo in the soarer is ajusted acuratly so the number read out is actually what your doing especially if you put larger wheels on

I can see the advantages of having a digital speedo but the analouge look is what appeals to me.

This is one of my favorite videos of a soarer interior showing the dash

Short clip of inside a soarer at night.

The digital dash is very bright and shows the rev-counter-bar rise with the revs.

I think it looks pretty good and you can hear the great v8 sound!

The shot is in a UZZ32 soarer (limited with EMV screen in console and features hydrualic suspension, not coils or air suspension. Rare model of soarer this ones number 663 out of 873 world wide. owned by Peter Scott (Adelaide Australia)

Damn that sounds good.

The rev counter is quite responsive. The speedo is a tad behind though.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

analogue all the way.... it is easy to read if its what youre used to-i dont ever wonder about my speed, and its even quicker just to take in the position of the needle and know what speed it is without taking your focus off the road to read numbers
