God thats the worst reason I have ever heard for using a rotor "lets get chicks" who cares if we rebuild it 3 times yearly cause it has no reliablity. Not to mention theres no replacement for displacement. HAHAHA 1300cc's anyone.

HAHAHAHA and dude the "chicks" you refer to have a nick name here in chch ROTARY HO

man you sure showed me

and to think i found rotarys incredibly fun to drive, so many revs, so much power from such a small engine, strange how many heavily ported rotarys last more than year if warmed up properly etc.

oh shit sorry they are crap engines...

i'm sorry some guys like hot car slaps (not that we have any in Dunedin)

i'm deeply sorry i'm not cool enough to dislike rotors

boy i wish i was from chch

excuse my while i go whack off my goat

Look mate no one wants to want to hear your problems.

Check what I said again man I never said I didn't like rotors I said they were unreliable and don't put one in a starlet.

If you like them so much whats in your AE85 a Rotor???

Hahahaha a warmed up rotary lasts over a year WOOOOHOOO.

How many 4AGE's do you know that the owners are stoked that it lasted over a year before a rebuild????

Are you $&#$% kidding me? Having rebuilt/modified rotaries, I can speak from experience, when I say that you're full of shit. I meet so many uneducated idiots like you, who really have no idea at all, I daresay you've never actually been in a rotary either?

Their simplicity is beautiful. They make 130hp factory (4port), and for a motor mass produced in the 70's, which will readily rev to 9000rpm with slight modifications to the factory carb, they're brilliant. Reliabilty? I've seen bog-standard series-1 RX7s reach the 250,000km mark before needing a rebuild!

The reason people think they're unreliable.. have you ever seen a rotary not getting thrashed? I couldn't count the times I've seen guys having to walk home, because of the fact they've thrown a tired, thrashed 12A into their RXwhatever, taken it to the diesels/skids/burnouts, pulled 10,000rpm with no modifications.. and then wonder why it seized on them! They're like any other motor, I bet if you thrashed the utter tits off say, a 4K, make it do revs it wasn't designed to do, thrash it on a daily basis, not do regular services (the downfall of many a rotary motor!), I'm sure it would rapidly shit itself too.

My point? You're an idiot. Think before you type!

Spend $800, get a secondary bridgeport, 200hp easy in a 12A.

KP60: 700kg, 200hp = 3.5kg/hp

R32 GTR Skyline: 1480kg, 280hp = 5.2kg/hp

So.. why not put one in a starlet?

KE36 Wagon owned by LOW_AA63 had been sitting for 7 years he got it for free and started it on 7 year old spark plugs, gas and leads then drove it home.

He then picked me up in it with the same fuel and we valve bounced around town for the next 5 hours only to be dropped off home with it still going and not missing a beat.

He then sold it and the engine still goes and the car still go's every day and the owner never new.

My rotary 929 after sitting for 1 year had to be towed home and then 200 bux on it to get it going again.

Not to metion a rebuild and a turbo and a gear box becasue nothing lasts and do you honestly think that A rotary is the only engine to get thrashed???

What an ignorant person you are RS13 and ive seen a chain drive 1500cc mazda hit 9500rpm it was a SOHC peice of crap which goes to show just cause they hit 10,000rpm dosn't mean there meant to.

I have owned rotary's before from experience they suck thats why I drive Toyota.

How would a SOCH 1500cc Mazda even reach 9500rpm? ECU would stop it from ever getting there wouldn't it? :?

AE101_REAR_DRIVE you are a $&#$% MORON.

Yup, totally. The fact that I've been working with cars since I could pick up a crescent, and have owned and worked on almost every make of car, could rebuild any motor with one hand behind my back.. but no, you're quite right, I don't know shit! Maybe I should take up knitting..

Ah, ok. You hear that, everyone? This idiot owned a rotary, which crapped out on him.. so NOONE BUY A ROTARY!

Mate, I thought school holidays were over? You show up, talking the talk about how you want to RWD your 20V.. your n00bness and lack of maturity shows everyone that your just another knob-jockey, bent on impressing the rest of us with your "originality". Take the hint, nobody wants you here..

What a waste of a thread.

Lock/Ban/Delete....

Based on past experience around here, if you have to ask this sort of question when google will answer it for you then there is a 99% chance the originator of this thread will sell an unstarted project within a years time and buy something with neons, or whatever else is the latest trend at the time.

You're quite right.

If you need to ask what to put into a car, perhaps you should do a bit more research instead of just asking on a forum?
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!
