Project Phoenix

Hey all,

Just thought i'd take a cue from Wildchilds thread on NZICE, and make something ongoing and fun you can get involved with. Its called : Project Phoenix.

Like the mythical Phoenix, this involves things dying, and then being reborn... In this case, we're talking subwoofers

How it works is : You need to take an old subwoofer. Any old subwoofer, so long as it works. Now, you need to kill it in the most spectacular manner you can : feed it mains power, drive over it with a steam roller, throw it out of a plane at 30,000 feet, we dont care, but make it cool ;) Then video it happening, and post the video here for all to see. At the end of February, a selected group of judges will judge all the videos, and the most spectacular videos will get their entrants rewarded with a brand new subwoofer for their efforts, like so :

- 1st Place : Adire Audio Koda 10" or 12" subwoofer valued at around $500
- 2nd Place : Digital Designs 1000 Series 10" or 12" subwoofer valued at around $250
- 3rd Place : Resonant Engineering RE Series 10" or 12" subwoofer valued at around $200

To qualify, you must show the sub still works properly before you blow it up. And please try and keep the videos below about 15MB : huge videos wont make anyone happy :D You can enter any number of times, but each instance has to be unique. You cant just nuke 10 subs in pretty much the same way and enter one each, nor can you nuke multiple subs at once and count each one as an entry ;)

Someone fill the cone of a sub face up with petrol, set it on fire and then crank a 50Hz tone through it
