Changin your pads would be the first option if you were keen enough maybe whole caliper swap from something else if you are serious about your brakes.

cheap suggestion-

Lucas Pads, ~120 fronts, ~60 rears from repco

$ suggestion (but better) is
have them custom made up (as quite a few of the guys do)
roughly $250 (iirc) 0800BRAKES (www.0800brakes.co.nz)

I think thats the place but cant remember if ive confused them with someone else...

the pads you get from race brakes are bloody good, there are a few of us running them, but you do get plenty of dust on your wheels from them, I run mostly the ebc green from fbi, not as hard out as the mintex, but a lot cleaner.

To help me help you...
explain what you mean when you say "Caldina brakes a bit crap"?
1 - Do you get brake fade,
2 - Do you have a long pedal,
3 - Do you have a soft pedal,
4 - Do you have a hard pedal,
5 - Are the brakes very sensitive (not much pedal pressure, car stops quickly)
6 - Are the brakes not sensitive (loads of pedal pressure, car stops slowly)
Pick the one/ones that best describe your problem then I might be able to suggest some solutions.

Without knowing what you think you don't like about your brakes...
Change the brake fluid, get toyota genuine pads, get the brake disks skimmed. Also try to drive other examples of the same car as yours so you can know if you car is the same or different to the others.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

probably the best description would be put foot down hard, car doesnt slow down to a stop in a hurry
plus ABS sucks
also pads squeak, but thats cause they are crappy pads

For EBC go straight to Hitech in Newmarket. Mine were $165 I think (fronts). You cant go past mintex M1166's for track use (just gettin mine redone at BNT - they bond and rivet the material to your old backings).

I find EBC green relatively clean - but not a patch on the mintex performance wise.

Sounds like a pad problem to me

I had EBC greenstuff in my GTZ trueno.
Cold - braking action poor (only just pass warrant)
Warm/Hot fantastic.

I would start by getting Toyota factory pads - they will work well cold and still be pretty good hot. Skim the disks as well.
Maybe get a second set of pads for trackdays etc. Only takes about 10 minutes to swap a set of pads at the track once you have done it a few times.

Drive some other GTTs to see if its just your car.

IMO and experience EBC Green Stuff are very average, Mintex 1166 are very very good and work relatively well when cold (no drama with warrants).

Had the EBC's on my AE101 FX and went to Mintex and will never look back. IMO who cares about brake dust, do you want good brakes or not. I have 17inch VX1's and they are a PITA to keep clean but what’s a bit of extra cleaning when it makes such a dramatic improvement to the brakes.

I got the majority of my brake set up direct from Race Brakes the guys there know there stuff and give very good deals to TS people. Check out this link for some detailed info:

http://www.toyspeed.org.nz/sponsors/Mas ... e_Info.doc

Depending on how many K's your GT-T has done and whether the rotors are down to their tolerance thickness or not you could consider the following upgrade which I have done to my FX (which I admit is no where near as heavy as your GT-T would be) but can't fault (pretty good value at just over approx $1000 a year ago excl braided lines and fitting) for what it has given me in terms of brakes, pulls up faster, never fades):

Brembo vented Slotted Rotors in the front;
New Factory rotors in the rear (couldn’t get slotted);
Mintex 1166 pads all round;
Elf XT3167 mineral fluid; and
I have just had Mossrax in Wellington put in a full set of braided hoses.

You could also consider bracing your master cylinder which can firm up pedal feel by limiting firewall flex, which should mean you can apply more pressure faster (same sort of theory as braided lines I believe).
