Car Horn

My horn doesnt work any more, it worked if you pressed in a certain area, but now wont work at all, would it be connections or do they "die" after a while.

Help would be great on this

is the horn on a stock steering wheel or aftermarket?
what sorta of car is it in?

sounds like the contact points have slipped where the horn part of the steering wheel is supposed to hit and therefore set the horn off. Take the horn apart if you want to fix it yourself, usually held on by either grommet things, or screws.

Its teh standard wheel, its in my 88 GTI, yeah I need to sort it as my WOF is due soon, and its a pain not giving bad drivers a go on the horn.
