AE86 RWD LSD WHATS THE DEAL?

CAN YOU PUT ME RIGHT! AN AE86 HAS 2 FACTORY OPTIONS ? FACTORY/TRD WHAT FITS THE PRE FACELIFT DIFF ?IS THE EARLY 86 DIFF THE SAME AS THE TE71? WILL THE LATER 86 F/L AXLES FIT THE PRE F/L HOUSING ? WHY IS THE LATER DIFF THE PERFERD OPTION ? WHAT IS THE GO ABOUT 1WAY 1.5WAY AND 2WAY LSD'S?

Most AE86 diffs are pre 10/85.
These diffs are the same as TE71.
The later diff has larger axles but I wouldn't say it was the preferred option. In fact I'd say it was the reverse.
1.5 way & 2 way refers to the mode in which the LSD will bind.
1.5 way means it will work fully under excelleration but only half as effectively in overrun or during engine braking. 2 way means it applies equally both ways.
