How do you choose your car?

Went i discovered the soarer a while back i first like the, features, engine, electrics all the technical stuff....

Then then i started like the way it looked. at first i thought it was alright looking now i think its superb, especially with the perfect mechanics underneath!

so how do you choose your car?

By its looks only

By its mechanics, features, engine etc

Or both...

Whats under the bonet comes first... but if they look darn ugly, i prob still wouldnt choose it ... like those (sorry if i offend anyone) GTIR nissan pulsars... they mayb quick, with a good rep, but they just arnt good looking cars, they hav that 'granny car' look about them.
u cant feel 'cool' in a granny car..

yeah i know what you mean.. they are quite boring overall and not very original. theres so many cars similar to it...

Looks first, I sure as hell didnt choose my KE30 solely for the rattly 3K and 4 speed

You can fix a slow car, but if your cars downright ugly to begin with youre $&#$%.

looks/nice to drive for me, i dont driveon the track so performance isn't really an issue.

i tend to find a car i like the look of to start with, then as i already like the look of that typr of car (current case being SW20) then i make sure then engine is in good nick, certainly failed there and as for general body work when buying it, it can easily be fixed and the condition tells the tale of the car

I choose my car on what I can get insurance on, then go from there.

Damn insurance companies, GRRRR.

Reliabilty 1st, then looks and engine even second.

Not too fussed on a fast car anymore though, theres nowhere to use it on the road

Just holding out to save up enough $$$ for a race car.

I have to admit I chose the MR2 cause I liked how it looked....quite a few I test drove were pretty gutless which put me off a fair bit, but my one wasnt too bad

I choose by its skidability ie. RWD and mostly old toyotas, but im biased

Well for me the manner in wich I choose my car is actually quite simple...it either has to have a JZ engine or it has to be an *A70 Supra.

That way I don't have to worry bout it being FWD either as everything in that class falls firmly in the RWD class.

I got my AE92 because I had owned one before and was forced to sell it... some weird sort of sentimental ties there. But I love the lines of them with the factory kit and the 4A-GZE is one of my favourite engines... Low down torque and good revablilty (is that a word??) running a bit higher than stock boost. That and the relative ease of working on it and sourcing parts compared to my ST185.
