1996 Toyota Levin Bzg Pod Filter? Or Hks Box?

Postby mauvis99 » Fri Oct 21, 2005 5:48 pm

Hey I need Help!! I went to repco the other day thinkin i could buy a poddy for my 1996 bzg and yeah the dude said i couldn't because of the air flow metre or regulator that sits in the stock air filter box, he said i should get the hks replacement air filter box. Is it that hard to put a poddy on or should i just get a new trd filter to sit in the stock box? But yeah im keen to get the poddy coz it makes that sucking noise lol. And should i even bother with the hks? wouldnt it be what ive got as stock except with an hks sticker on it? Thanks.

The guys a Tard, you dont have an air flow meter, you have a map sensor, So yes you can put a pod filter on it, IMO i would buy a K&N replacement panel filter, Filters well and is cleanable and will restrict a lot less than a standard filter,

A pod filter sucks in warm air from around your engine bay unless you build a cold air box

I have an HKs panel filter which is made of foam, im a bit cagy about it disintegrating over time and ending up in my engine somewhere 8O

So yeah, if i had to, i would go for the K&N replacement
