Cam Angle Sensor timing

Postby wanado13's » Sun Oct 23, 2005 11:55 am

I just put some bluetop cams in my ae92 gtz and the cam angle sensor is now out of timing and not sparking at the right time and consequently not going :x , does anyone know how to get the teeth back in the right spot, is there a tool or anything that I could use or is it hit and miss

There is an indentation on the body of the sensor just where the shaft which has the gear that meshes with the cam joins.

On that gear there is one tooth that has an extension on it.

Line the indentation and the extension up, this is the sensor set to TDC.

Now set the engine to TDC.

This part I'm not sure about: Put the sensor in with the indentation facing up. (Does anyone know if this is correct?).

The timing is now roughly set, to set it accurately you will need a timing light and set it off the marks by the crank pulley.
