ST185 - 205/40/17x7 ET45 fit??

Postby FoRsaKeN » Fri Oct 28, 2005 12:30 am

Hey there
Just wondering if any of you have fit 205/40/17x7 mags on you st185 at 45 offset and had any problems with rubbing in the rear.
i know the front has enough space, just checking about the rear.

If so, are there anyways this can be fixed?
Spacers maybe... but aren't they illegal?? (wont get WOF)

Thanks

to answer part of that, yes spacers are illegal.

i have heard from someone you can get them certed, but im not sure, it may be a load of bollocks...

There are ways to get round that, but im sure you can figure them out without me saying them on a public board.
I had vtax :(

Ok... i just measured my car
It seems that with the standard 195/60/14 with 45offset, in the back i can barely put my nuckle betweek the inner side of the tyres and the shock.

I measured around 13mm space..

And im wanting to get some 205/40/17 with the same 45 offset
so that's an extra 10mm, 5mm on each side of the tyre.

Is that too close, a 10-15mm gap and needing 5mm....
What do you guys think?
Too close to risk???
