Jap FXGT V NZ GT AE82 Computers

Postby Kermit12a » Mon Oct 31, 2005 4:40 pm

What is the difference and would there be any benefit putting the NZ New GT computer in my FXGT. Both 1985 models just different countries?

Lack of speed limiter for one, a higher rev limiter for another (not much higher, but still) and supposedly tuned for NZ fuel, (I think thats a myth, but others will have you beleive otherwise)

didnt notice 5/8s of f**k all difference when i borrowed one for a while

yeah given the bluetops low compression ratio they dont suffer as much changing from 100 to 96. not like the 20vs which do!

so if you can use one if your JDM one is poos, but no point changing otherwise

So end of the day. If I can be F@#$ed taking out my JDM one and putting in the NZ one it will only help if I want to take it off the clock. 8O

Well not worth my time seams as it only goes as high as 140 for passing and even then it is only if I am in a hurry to get home. :?

Yup. I swapped to the NZ new one and it made NO difference. I may have lost the speed limiter, but I haven't tested it.

Just snip the speed sensor wire for the ECU if you wanna go off the clock, 4AGEs are good like that,

Youll need a ECU pin out diagram from www.club4ag.com, then find the right one, snip it, and if the car wont start then join it back up and try again. If ya do disconnect the speed sensor it will trigger a signal on your engine check light if youre running one, but wont affect engine performance except youll have no speed limiter :D
