Hi

This may be a dumb question but does anyone know if you can get sunvisors for older cars i.e. 83 celica.

yip, all of them seem to dis-colour and sag and turn out pretty ugly. Would be keen to find out what you guys come up with :)

it wouldnt be difficult or expensive to recover them in an unfaded new material.

Spoke to an upholstery guy today and he said that you can get a sleeve made up for them which isn't to expensive but doesn't look as good as the original.

Still best bet is to find something from a wreckers. Although one thing I found out is that one of the connections is adjustable. This should it make it easier to find a replacement from an later model car.

If you go to a wrecker with a sample (complete with mounting arm), they may let you go through their stock. I did this at Pick-a-part as well as Spartan (beware their prices) and ended up with a couple of vinyl sunvisors from a Soarer, I think....

They fit and don't seem to suffer the "crumble" the Supra ones were plagued with.

Yes I would be if they are in good condition and the right color.

I have replaced the headliner in mine so it is now black. So I really need some that are a dark color.

- Hey Dave what model soarer did you get yours from?

Not sure - they were already out of the car when handed to me....
The innards of the Celica/Supra items were only foam on the wire frame, but later visors had foam over a cardboard inner/wire frame.

I'd check along the lines of mid 80's onwards - I had thought of playing with a sunvisor from something like a 1990's Corolla.
