10 new laws that I think should be introduced.

Postby RomanV » Fri Nov 04, 2005 3:15 pm

1. Speed limits raised 20% after 10pm.

2. Its okay to drive drunk, so long as you are wearing a helmet, have your hazard lights on, keep to the left and dont exceed 20kph.

3. You need to attend a short course before you are allowed to drive a big lumbering 4wd death machine.

4. A HP or engine size limit for learners/restricted drivers... Its crazy to think that you could legally learn how to drive in an 800hp RWD weapon that weighs 450kgs.

5. Revised license tests. Anyone can do a three point turn... It takes a GOOD driver to do a 3 point turn while eating a eating a burger and not spilling the drink you are holding in the other hand.

6. Airbags with a secondary function... If the crash was your fault, a boxing glove comes out and punches you in the face, instead of inflating an airbag.
People get too cocky if they think they will be safe in a crash.

7. If you get caught keying somones car.... You get your hands cut off and replaced with polishing pads.
Since no one except a car groomer would ever employ someone who had polishing pads for hands, You would have no choice but to spend the rest of your days buffing cars. Which in my opinion is a rather fitting punishment.

8. If three cars are travelling side by side on the motorway at 85KPH, and you are stuck behind them.... you are within your legal rights to SHOOT TO KILL.

9. Any car with more than 250hp is not allowed fluffy toys on the rear parcel tray.... or anywhere in/on the car for that matter.

10. Different people have different tolerances to alcohol. If you get DIC'ed but you think you can drive safely, you can sit a test to gauge if your reactions are good enough to continue driving.
The officer aims his/her tazer at you, and fires after a countdown from 3.
(Whether he/she fires on "3,2,1,FIRE!" or "3..2...FIRE!" Is at the officers discretion, and he/she doesnt have to tell you which.)
If your reactions are good enough to avoid the darts that fire out, you obviously have good enough reactions to drive the rest of the way home.
Getting severly shocked by the tazer is the punishment for being too drunk to drive, and wasting police time by trying to act sober.
you would only ever attempt this test if you were SURE that you were sober enough, or if you were too drunk to know any better.
Either way, it would be highly amusing, it would raise police morale considerably, free up the courts that are choked with DIC cases, and be more of a deterrent to drink driving than losing your license for a few months.

A revision for number 1:
I've alway thought 3-4am should be "free for all" on the roads outside of city centre and suburbs, all driving laws suspended, your out there at your own risk. That would be a very fun hour :D

awesome
i think there should be an 11)
11) if you go a year withougt crashing you are given the option to do a 1 year advanced test where you are tested on reactions and other things and then allowed to drive faster maybe 10-15kph over the regular limit
carry on the process, if you pass this and survive another year without incident you get yet another test (or the option to sit another test if desired) and then provided you pass the next test your own personal limit increases and this goes on till you crash and go back down to the standard driving limit or until you pass enough tests to outdo your car or personal comfort zone at which stage you would not accept the option of another test for fear of shitting yourself and then fear of crashing and going back to square 1
SW20, a work in progress for 2 years now, all i need to do now is work on it

go number 11,

You still get pulled over, but then you whip out your 'Ive been a good boy' card haha...

I know one too many people that can just drive and have a licence... speeding shouldn't be a free for all....

Dave for Prime Minister!! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

kind of disturbing IMO that you think it's ok to drive drunk under certain circumstances.... :?

Its kind of disturbing that you think I am serious about that... It makes me wonder if you think I am serious about the others too.

And if so, its disturbing that the only rule out of those that you object to, is THAT. :?

So... Tazering drivers is okay...

Having airbags that punch people in the face is okay...

Cutting off peoples hands is okay...

Yet you recoil in horror at the thought of someone driving while drunk?
