Factory 8" Speaker Replacement?

Postby riddles » Sun Nov 06, 2005 7:28 pm

Can anyone here recommend a moderate price vs quality 8" and where to get it, to replace the factory door speakers in an ST205?

Or alternatively an 8" speaker with a yellow cone.

The current speaker is 2ohm 25W and 80mm deep (face down on desk to the back of the magnet)

Cheers

hmmm, 8" speakers... =S

all i've done in my car, is to remove the horrible factory speakers, and install a thing MDF mount to bring it down to a 6 1/2" sized fitting, then installed some nice 6 1/2" speakers. =)

i'm not really too sure what there are available in the way of 8" speakers really.
and your car is most likely the same as mine in regards to interior (mines an ST206 Curren) =)

cheers

Paint would interfere with the sound though - dye maybe? Although you would need to bleach the black and then dye wouldn't you?

I don't think I would want to put anything smaller in as you can see inside the grille quite well.

vdo makes some 8" 3 way co axials.
they sound really good, but im not sure if you would want to put them in your front doors, since you already have tweeters up front.
probably too deep as well, as the magnets are fairly decent

Blaupunkt do some really good 2-way 8 inch full range speakers that fit in there nicely. We have these in stock just for that reason!

Go see Car Stereo Company in Wellington. They are a Blaupunkt dealer.
