What have people done with there seatbelts

when they put bucket seats in there cars ...

do you need to modify it to fit or does nothing change just goes around you all the same ?

Depends if any of the seatbelt mounts are on the seat rails

say on a Corolla Fxgt Ae101 .... i would check my self but i dont have my car

im pretty sure they are bolted to the car its self rather than the seats .. just the thing the belt plugs in to not to sure of top of my head hmmm

NO they arent Chris. they are mounted to the factory seat, not the chassis.

you need to do one of two things...

1 - have the seatbelt stalk mounted to the transmission tunnel

or

2 - have seatbelt stalk mounted to the new rails for your seats that you're inserting.

then add that to the list of things you're needing to cert.

cheers for that andrew ... might as well get the whole lot done at the same time cant remember what half the car looks like its been so long!

how are the ae101 ones mounted to the seat at the moment is it possible to take them off and have them mounted under the bolts ? or is that a no no

It is possible for that to happen.... however it is a bit of a nono, and you should fail wof's if the inspector is up with play and picks it up.

I cant find the fact sheet right now, but it stipulates that as soon as the seat belt mounting point is changed or modified from OEM then certification is required

i had mine fit to the factory rails with the standard racepro brackets
works a treat and dont have to worry about getting anything mounted to s different place
SW20, a work in progress for 2 years now, all i need to do now is work on it
