I thought the filter sat between the 2 parts of the airbox? You would have probably been better leaving the bottom part on there as you are now just sucking hot air form the engine bay like my stupid pod filter is! :x

this is where my valve thingie is sitting (circled) the arrow points to where the vacum line for the aircon will go. i am going to drill a hole in the pipe and put the air temp sensor in with the factory grommit around it (off the old airbox)

yes i would agree. put the bottom back on and loose the resonator from your left front guard. there is a plastic pipe that goes from your headlight to the airbox, you can loose that if you like but once again you will be sucking in hot air...

yeah thats what i did with my 20v blacktop, Used the rubber grommet off a factory toyota airbox, the filter now sits where the resonator used to be in the front guard and gets air from straight in front of the factory spotlight gap.

Looks like you've done quite a good job there fella, Its nice to see someone taking their time and doing it properly rather than rip shit and bust

Are you going to remount the sensor box thing thats now dangling on top of the gearbox somewherein the line?

And nice polished cam cover, how did you do that?

You dont happen to still have the old airbox etc do you?

yeah it took a lot of thinking then basically a weekend of putting together. i am going to mount the valve under where the pipe goes in so you cant see it.

polished cam covers got done by some guy THA SHZ knows (cant remember the company name) but he did a bloody good job.

i have the complete factory cold airbox and all associated piping but its got a big as $&#$% hole in it where the valve went. i hack-saw'd it out

ill try that tommorow!!

You know tjhat sensor which is bolted into the side of the standard airbox? Where is that on yours?
The air tempature (needle thing) is put back into the intake right?

Man, this will confuse me.

My car (bigport/tvis ae92) doesnt have that other sensor box thing you're talking about - only the intake temp sensor, thats the sensor i plumbed into the stock intake pipe in place of the idle up feed line (2nd to bottom pic)
