Advice on AE101 FMIC piping

Postby Undertow » Tue Nov 08, 2005 11:11 pm

Hi. Would like to see some pictures perhaps or suggestions on where to route the piping for a front mount. Cheers.

SC setup. It's for my girlfriends 101. Also if I can rig up a BOV for it that would be awesome. I know they're not possible with the standard setup but I've heard they can be done. Any ideas?

thin HARD before going front mount on a s/c......

id look into water to air. having a longer intake pipe will increase that annoying haabit they have of holding revs for a second or so after lift off

Thanks dude for the link. That's awesome. She's got a kit on it with a pretty decent sized place for an FMIC so that's the way to go aswell as the fact that she's got the cooler already. Cheers ears!

shes not gona liek driving it with a fmic on it, you get laggy throttle response and when u backoff the throttle the car keeps on going because of the air in the system.

Water to air would be the best option in my opinion for a s/c setup, or my mate fred has a bar n plate top mount that replaces the standard ic direct bolt on.

There was one on Trade me, Nice looking Upgrade. If you could insulate it from engine bay heat it would even be better.

Like Bazda says S/C with Front mount would be too laggy etc thats what put me off that Idea, as it defeats the whole purpose of Supercharging

When we put the sc14 on freds old car with a front mount, the throttle response was good as the sc14 is big and boosts up fast but when you back off took a couple of seconds until the revs dropped back down.

Freds still selling his top mounted bar n plate think he wants like $300 and it fits the factory mounts etc.
