Should Public Firework Sales Be Banned?

Postby EVOGTX » Wed Nov 09, 2005 2:16 pm

I'm quite interested in how everyone sees this issue, me I say keep 'em. What else are we going to use to blow stuff up? (Excluding going to the trouble of making plastic explosives)

I say ''NO'' but I understand why they would get banned and wouldnt argue with it.
Anger is seldom without argument but seldom with a good one.

Indeed Mr MOFO,

I can't see how you would justify the ill effects of them....i.e the many fires and kids owning themselves (even though that may be funny at times)

I'm quite fond of fireworks, but won't be suprised if they are banned

mm ive been arrested for the misuse of fireworks, not that it was anything extreme is even close to dangerous, just the cops being typical asshats.

but to be honest, yeh ban them. i was still relatively young when they banned double happys and then skyrockets and since that time guy fawkes became a bore anyway.

public use of fireworks can cause fires/injury/torture to animals. so yeh, ban em.

I'm kinda on the fence with this...

I think they should make it harder to be able to buy fireworks and the like, as with proper precautions and what not, they are excellent fun.

I guess like everything else, the retarded minority ruin it for the rest of us.

Wether they are banned or not, people will still get them.
I say raise the age, what is it now? 14? Mum reckons she saw a kid like, 12, walking out of a shop with a bag full of explosions.

Raising the age isn't 100% effective, but it will stop alot of kids getting it. Ofcourse they can ask their parents, but some parents might say no, that's why they go buy it themselves, 'cause they can.

Mmmm buzzy bees!!! my favourite!!

I remember when i was bout 16 my brother and i found a big box filled with old double happy's and a couple of buzzy bee's.

That was a good night that one. 8)

Things were so much fun back in the old days before you got the retards that have to go out and ruin it for everybody else.

Still if they're gonna ban them then so be it i'm moving in with a best mate of mine who is a qualified chemical engineer so i'm sure he can teach me how to make other things that explode

little idiots wont go to the trouble of sourcing a way to buy them if they cant just goto the warehouse and buy a box.

It became a bore long before that, first they banned 4" Thundercrackers, then 3" then finally 2" Thundercrackers, Mighty Cannons, Sky Rockets and even Tom Thumbs, plus only allowing sales one week before Guy Fawkes.

I say ban them. They are iritating to listen to every night.

I'm all for a big public display of fireworks over the harbour or something where people can ask for a donation of some sort. I'd be happy paying and you'll be able to see allot more and better fireworks that way.

There is a firework apparently that you can rip apart and it is very similar to the old skyrockets

Yeah, a GOOD public firework show would be a better option. For Hamilton it could be at the lake, plenty of parking right around the lake for everyone to get a good view.
And you don't get dicks setting them off a week after the day itself.

YES ban them, PUBLIC DISPLAY only, would be great and lot more safer for everyone in your comunity, then we wouldn't have all these fireworks related fires occuring over the country
