Im looking at getting a exedy 3 puk clutch for my silvertop 4age just wondering if this will be to harsh for daily driving?Im getting it before the masterton drags. cheers
Yes. From what I'm told about these clutch's is that they are either ON or Off. There's no real slip factor, which can be a real problem for a daily driven vehicle in traffic situations.
Other than that, they work really well.
Your Opinion Means 1/16th Of Stuff All To Me So Dont Bother Arguing With Me About It As I Just Dont Care.
I have exedy 4 puk clutch in my 20v, it is not as bad as pple say, at first I thought it was pain in the ass, but then I got used to it.. I drive the car every day in traffic to work and back.
i have a 3 puk in my race car that is road reg and there is a little shudder on take off but not that much, there not heavy on the leg.if you got one without springs in the clutch then she would be a different story.when people say there are heavy on the leg and a bitch to drive they maybe need to try one, even my girl can hop out of her car and into my race car and drive it fine and shes not a car nut
They are actually very light, lighter then standart, I had to remove spring on the pedal, to get back the "feel"... yeah it shudders, so what, I had standart cluth (Luk) shudder same amout...
Ive found a 4 puk solid center clutch plate with a trd pressure plate im just wondering wictch would be the best out of the 4 puk solid center or the exedy 3 puk sprung center also what would be a roughest to drive? cheers
Pedal feel is down to the cover plate, not the clutch.
Paddle clutches will also tend to wear out faster than organic types as they are not designed to be 'slipped' or use for stop start traffic etc.

Solid centre will be yuck for street use. I have a five puk sprung in my car and its alot nicer than the three puk solid that was in the other turbo wagon I had. But my five puk is ALOT heavier on the foot than the three.
Depends on how much traffic you'd normally sit in and what your personal preference is!
