Roof aerial instillation tricks?

Postby Ae92typeX » Thu Nov 17, 2005 9:54 pm

Well, Im slowly getin bits and pieces going back onto the aw now, but have been irritated all evening trying to get the aerial in.
In normal situations, when removing one ties a string to the cable so it is a simple pull back in on reassembly.
Mine already had a broken cable on purchase which didnt allow me to do that.
The problem is it goes down the pillar and then normally just exits through a sharp 90* bend. Ive tried coat hangers, wire, less flexible nylon...none positioning themself in easy access to pull through the hole at the bottom (which I cant see straight on as Ive re-installed the interior now.)
so...
aside from the above, has anyone got any other tricks to try?

I ended up taking it under the roof trim, and down behind the pillar cover...cant tell the difference by the eye so all good.
Still interested to know any tricks I didnt try for nexttime however??? (unless I did them all?)
