one of my mates who 'knows' the guy im getting the car off rekons the ecu has been fiddled with and that the motor isnt the original one

spose its hard to tell

re rekons before it got written off it went harder than standard, but buggered if i know lol

Ummm.... he's proberly full of s#@t.

It looks like just a standard blacktop with a pod filter sucking in lots of hot air, coated standard extractors, and sum bling bling quad carb cover.

But remember..... each sticker you have gives you an extra 5hp!!!

well its got 2 trd ones (7hp each), a klotz one, a couple of autogauge ones and a couple of k&n ones :d so of course its way more powerful!

looks like someone had some cheap paint... all the covers an so-on are blacktop ones painted silver, painted extractors... an painted block? heh
its prolly all stock but if he clames the ecu or sumthens "played with" get him to pull it out... itll have a sticker onit saying so.

im guessing the ecu is behind the glovebox as it is in my 'dina?
what kinda sticker/marking should i be looking for?

How much is left on the rego, do it yourself if theres quite a bit of time left because you will get money back. That happened when I got a car for free, it had a whole years rego when I got it then I fanged it for a few months and dereged it, got $150 back.

reason i was asking was if i get him to de-reg it then technically i woudnt need to do change of ownership right? or should i just do that crud and de-reg it myself?

get him to de reg it if you buy it... coz then you dont have to pay the $9.20 or whatever it costs to change ownership...
