LIGHTS WONT TURN OFF!!!

Postby TRD CHICK » Thu Nov 17, 2005 8:39 am

Hey guys, i need help... my park lights wont turn off!!! :?

i got a 95 BZG levin, and when i turn my alarm on or off the park lights flash on and off, but latly, the park lights have been coming on and staying on... happened a while ago, but if you just turned alarm on and off a few times they would eventually turn off, so i stopped using the alarm for a while, but last nite, gave it a go and they stayed on for ages, we stood outside turning alarm on and off (until neighbours yelled at us), checked all the fuses, turned the lights on adn off (high beam, normal and park lights all sweet) and everything. disconnected the battery, when disconnecting the battery then connecting again, they just come back on again...!

last nite when i got home i disconnected it and left it till this morning, and when i went to leave for work and connected the battery they were still bloody on!!! 8O

and whats weird is, one of them is brighter than the other too...

anyone know what i can do??? im trying to suss out a mate who knows an auto sparky... but mean while when ever i leave my car i gotta disconnect the battery!! :(

sounds like a dodgy alarm, maybe a sticking relay init.

might be a blown fuse for this... I had this a while ago in one of my cars, lights stayed on, one brighter than the other... I guess it was like a partially broken one cos it worked fine sometimes, not others, and stayed on sometimes, replaced the fuse for park lights, and all was fine.

you also have a park light switch in your dash somewhere
most times on the column between the dash cluster and steering wheel

Could be right barryogen. We had a BZG on the yard a while ago which had wipers that wouldn't stop. It was a fuse.
