Q's for those with 20v flywheels in thier t50

Postby AE85.6 » Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:49 pm

i know the gtz flywheels are the biggest and dont fit inside a t50 but what about the others,

i thought the 20v flywheels were the biggest that would fit inside a t50 but how do these compare diametre wise to a 16v one ? is there is any size difference or is it just that they are lighter ?

i would assume that if the 20v flywheel is a bigger diametre but still fits in a t50 i could then use an ae111 clutch and cover as apposed to ae86 ones which would give a bit more surface to grab also, as long as all this fits into a t50 sweet

cheers

Pre 1989.5 clutch dia 200mm

Post 1989.5 clutch dia 212mm fitted to 4/7afe and 20valve

all 4agze clutch dia 224mm

212mm is the largest clutch to fit into a T-50 bell housing.

Karl would be referring to the W series boxes i.e. W55, W57 etc

Hence the A - W

20v clutch and flywheel fits inside factory A -> T bellhousing.
Same clutch spline too.

4AGZE clutch has different spline, and that flywheel & clutch combo only fits inside Nite Parts A -> W bellhousing.

for anyone that has fit a 20v flywheel into a t50 was there any tricks to actually getting it in ???

i could get the gearbox most of the way on except couldnt push it the last about 10mm on.

i assumed this was because the shaft was not lined up and was not feeding through the flywheel into the pilot bearing but it looks sweet and the clutch plate looks pretty much centred.

cheers
