Nothing thats gonna make a huge difference, the usual intake and exhaust will make the best gain per dollar spent, unless you use nitrous.
Would be fun to see how much nitrous a 2E could take though!!

The 2E is designed as an economy engine. There's not much you can do to it other than the basics.

I would say for starters give it a decent service, and replace parts which will most likely be worn out. Change the oil and filter with a genuine part, change the spark plugs, maybe replace the ignition leads, distributor cap and rotor too while you're at it.

The basics is intake, headers, and exhaust. You might be able to get a replacement K&N filter for it from say Repco. The stock exhaust system is probably more than fine for a 1300cc motor.

If you want to get a little more serious, look into getting a Bosch GT40R coil, or even MSN ignition.

GT40R retails at about $100. MSD would be even more overkill than nitrous

MSD is a brand of high powered ignition. As stated, miles of overkill for a 2E

Shifted to a more appropriate section.

Overkill, as in the fact MSD ignition setups arent that cheap, and wouldnt be that beneficial to your car

Bugger all I'd imagine, unless your current coil is stuffed. Will possibly make it easier to start though :D
Save up the coin, and do your exhaust from the manifold back in 1.75", maybe 2" with a couple of resonators and a decent muffler, that'll probably be the best gain you'll get. Would probably set you back $500ish at any decent exhaust shop.
