This is how it works.
Basically fumes etc. would accumulate in the head if it wasnt ventilated.
So instead, the fumes get sucked into the carb, and burnt in the combustion chamber. The hose leading from the filter box to the head supplies fresh (filtered) air to the head.
So...
Air gets sucked from the intake box.... through the head (taking fumes with it!) and sucked through into the carb, and burnt.
I would assume that a breather like that is designed to eliminate the hose from the filter box to the head.
So you'd want to remove the hose from the filter to the head, block the hole in the filter box, and place the breather on the head where the pipe used to go.
Im not entirely sure what the point of this is however, I would assume that it is for when people use aftermarket intakes, and they dont want to have to tap a line for the air feed for the head.
