GTZ Gearbox fluid

Postby CrAiG » Sun Nov 27, 2005 6:09 pm

Hi

I have just purchased a '91 Levin GTZ and am wanting to do al the fluids on it, my question is this:

How many litres of oil does the gearbox hold? and will the 75W-90 Semi-synthetic oil that I already have be fine to use in this gearbox?

Thank you in advance

NB (I have searched for the last 3/4 of an hour to no avail.....)

Hey, nice choice of vehicle

Gearbox holds 3.5L

I was using Valvoline 75W90 semi synthetic in mine and it wasnt very nice, made the changes notchy (more so than normal) especially when cold.

Use Castol VMX which is a straight 80 weight oil, IMO the changes feel a lot nicer.

Thanks, im pretty happy with it, one day hopefully it will look as good as yours lol!!

Thats a whole heap of oil that it holds!! So your of the opinion that 75W-90 is no good?

Thank you

i use to run valvoline lsd 85w-90 in my ae92 gtz, was nice and smooth,

however with the valvoline in my ae101 gtz it was notchy, so ended up running mobil atf, very smooth and quiet.
