would it not be approximately $100,000 cheaper just to get a cage bent up for your car???
i believe that is the going rate for an accurate mandrel bender with all the dies.

if you think you can bend them up the same way Jesse James does, then stop thinking, exhuast benders crush the tubing and will render the cage unusable
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

and i hope if you plan to do it yourself that you are a qualified, ticketed etc welder....
unless you just want to make 'bling' half cages and 'cages' for demo-derby cars
MSNZ has strict rollcage rules

i was just thinking of getting the former for 1&1/2" or 38.1mm. i wasnt going to weld it. just bend it up, i got a mate whos a ticketed welded, who can tig weld the cage for me.
i wasnt looking at buying the most expensive flashest bender out. just a manual one, made for rollcage bending. the cost of the bender with one former is about the same as getting a cage made.

I dont think a fabricator that can weld a cage could pass as a girlfriend either.

If you did do it yourself, you can still get it certified etc. right?

Assuming it makes the cut.

as long as its all up to spec and you are a ticketed (etc) welder.

check the MSNZ website, all the info is on their spec-sheets
