could be... well could be... m series, r series, l series, s series, or possibly even g series... safe bet go with 5m*** or 1g***

HRT has a 1979 Toyota Crown, Which has a 4m..

while this doesnt help you in the slighest, my dad had a crown from that era that ran on lpg!

and before that, he had a Mk5 cortina that was a petrol/cng hybrid, and could run on either, or both at the same time, at the flick of a switch. crazy!

and no, im not shitting you, i drove round in it for years! this was back when you could still get cng :/

A mate of a mate of mine had a dx corolla with a 2.8 6 cylinder out of a crown in it. It was reasonably quick but a 4k with a bit of work done would probably beat it 8O

engines like that are too heavy for 70's definetly

1. Too heavy steering, you'd have to get power steering installed unless you like the whole aching arms thing....
2. Heavier car....
3. not very economical

4AGE is what I'd go for... nice and light on steering, good push and power... plus doesn't guzzle too much
