Hi guys,
My gf's blacktop ae111 XXX corolla has a pretty mean rattle at the moment. But its really on and off. It sounds like a thin piece of metal rattling most of the time, but sometimes when you brake (doesnt have to be hard breaking) to a stop there is a scaping noise, and is sometimes followed by a loud grinding noise.
The rattle only usually occurs in 1st or 2nd when accelerating, or just rolling at 1.5-3k rpm and more so on bumpy roads.
I put the car up on some ramps on the W/E and had a look under the car but couldnt see anything loose. I gave the exhaust/floor panel guards look over and couldnt find anything loose enough to make that kinda noise.
Any ideas? I really cant see anything loose around the wheels/exhaust. Hoping someone might know of a common thing that would cause this on a blacktop.
Thanks.
