Stupid cam swap question..

Ok, dumb question here.

Engines sitting on the ground, cambelt and everythings all off, (its a 3sgte), but I cant get the f%$%ing cams out! In a nutshell theres that big metal plate which is being a pain. I cant get the bolt holding the cam gear to the cam undone (theres no way to brace the thing and stop it moving), and can't get to the last couple of bolts holding the cam in place because of said metal plate.

Any ideas? I'm --><-- this close to just cutting the bloody plate up!

the camgear bolts really have to come off (pays to do this before removing cambelt )- otherwise maybe you can unbolt the inner cambelt cover (I think this is the big metal plate you're having problems with) enough to access the last two cam retainer caps

failing that, cut off the inner cambelt cover and contact me about a replacement

Yeah... Kinda occurred to me somewhat late that I probably needed the cambelt still on to get the bolts undone.

Out come the tin snips tonight



And I have a spare cover thingy.... Luckily
