hydraulic to cable clutch - whats involved?

Postby lofreq » Wed Dec 07, 2005 10:20 pm

guys - im swapping a 1ggte from Looonie's soarer into my gx71 as some may know, and im sure the gx71 is cable clutch. 1ggte in the soarer is using hydraulic. is there an issue with this? i have only worked on cable clutch cars so am not sure how the hydraulic system works, is it powered and pressurised by its own pump off the motor? electric? will a cable clutch system work just as well? if so do i need to disable/remove the hydraulic bits from the 1ggte before installation to my car?

any help appreciated! :)

no pumps or anything just find a master cyclinder that will fit into the eng bay and throught the exsiusting hole, drill a couple of holes put bolts in there, make a metal line with a rubber hose on the end for when the eng moves/vibrates. make a rod from you pedal to the cyc and your away,

pays to keep it toyota as well so lines match up easy.

clutch master cyclinder are cheep as well i got a new one the other day trade = $35ish

Or use copper and put a loop or two in it before it goes into the slave, also allows movement.
