I was running late for work, chucked headeck in pocket. I ran down the stairs to my car and on the way down it fell out onto the stairs. I was like Meh at the time becuase it had no scratches or anything, anyway put it in the car and the last 1/3 of the screen dont work  .

Im gnna ring up the place i got it from and make up some bullshit story in the hope they will repair it for free. But if they dont any ideas on how much it would cost to fix?

best to email the supplier as well as ask at the place you bought it. Prevously mates have paid anywhere from 80-140 for a faceplate.
It can depend what is broken, but often the labour is just as much the killer as the replacement part. For sure its worth getting a quote to repair also if you have no luck at the place you bought it. It could be as simple as a dry/cracked solder joint, although I wouldnt count on it...

do what i do and just pull it to bits and inspect it

i scored a free amp doing this ;) it had previously caught fire - melted one wire away from the solder

also fixed my radar detector - cracked solder joint

bummer...at that price, I guess its a bit of a tossup whether to get a face or upgrade. dosent sound like you have had it long however, so thats not ideal. As Coz says, its still cheaper...
so its the last 1/3rd of the lcd screen yea?
It could be a joint, but as I said before, may not be. sometimes the screen cracks and cant be repaired, just replaced.
I feel sorry for ya, I couldnt go without a stereo in any of my cars

yeh i have had it for a few months and have got in debt to my parents to get it. Everything still works and all its just that it looks a bit gay because of the last bit not working. Im gnna take it back to parallel on saturday. I never new how much owning a car and doing it up could stress you out :?

oh yea also when i dropped it the plastic cover came off the screen and there didnt appear to be any cracks or anything in the screen on the outsides. Its like a flush straight line where the screen stops working

Unless it was installed by a "quilified" person i don't fancy your chances, just going be prevous experence.
