Postby XERO » Fri Dec 30, 2005 5:51 pm

Thed darnedest thing happened when i was cleaning my caldina, ive had it for about a year now and replaced the head unit about 4 or so months ago, any hows, theres a bloddy cd changer in the back of my car and i didnt even know it was there... hahaha....

anyhows, of course i want this to get working now, any help would be great...

The headunit is a VDO Dayton one which is as i stated about 4 months old... and the cd changer is an original toyota product?? Product ID HCT-0670

AFAIK original toyota is fujitsu 10 in most cars, more vip cars had panasonic, namakatchi(sp) etc, so your probly out of luck there. It woiuld need to be a VDO stacker.

either way you can't hook them up to the vdo unit you have because each manufacturer has a proprietory connection system with different command signals. I'm not saying its impossible, but for what its worth you're better getting a mp3 player or if you have auxilary inputs, use an ipod

do u still have the original head unit? rip out the stacker and sell it with the head unit to sum lil wana be as a **WOW** caldina stereo then use the cash to buy urself a mp3 heap unit or ipod, i gt my JVC unit thru my work for next to bugger all and it out perform's most expensive units saves getting out of the vehicle, opening the boot, moving all ur shite around and then trying to think of which cd's ur most likely to want to have in there.......

you certain (as mentioned) its not the gps nav disc input??

I thought the stock caldinas had a stacker in the front?

(well I know all the dinas I looked at had the stock 6-disc single din stacker..)

except one which had a bling stereo / nav / tv / etc. in the double din area, but didnt get a chance to take a closer look as when i went to take it for the test drive the sales guy came running out and stopped me cos the guy who had taken it for a test drive earlier that day had come back and was paying cash....

that same caldina was written off by a hilux less than a month later.

ok thats totally off topic, and probably way too much info, and nobody cares. but hell I dont care either.

pfft.
